The English School は、日々の暮らしや文化、アートなどを入り口に、英語で表現し、対話する力を育てる大人のための英語教室です。
ことばを学ぶことは、ただ単語や文法を覚えることだけではありません。
自分の感じたことを伝えたり、相手の考えに耳を傾けたりしながら、少しずつ世界との関わり方を広げていくことでもあります。
レッスンでは、「正しく話す」よりも、まずは自分のことばで伝えてみることを大切にしています。言葉につまったり、間違えたりしながらも、少しずつ表現を見つけていく。その過程そのものが英語を学ぶ大切な時間だと考えています。
英語をもう一度学び直したい方、自分の興味や感じたことを英語で表現したい方、アートや文化、暮らしの話題を通して英語にふれたい方に向けて、少人数で安心して話せる場をつくっています。

Director, Kano Ikegami
Kano Ikegami was born in Germany and educated primarily in Japan. Through her own experience learning English, she came to recognise the gap between formal language education and the joy of authentic communication.
At The English School, we offer dialogue-centred English lessons, using familiar yet meaningful themes such as everyday life, culture, and art as starting points. We believe that learning a language is not just about acquiring words and expressions. It is also about encountering worlds beyond our own and discovering new ways of seeing, feeling, and understanding ourselves.
In our lessons, we value each person’s interests and experiences, and aim to create a space where their world can gradually open up through English.
Alongside our online lessons, we also host events and opportunities for exchange with guests from abroad. We hope to be a place where language is not only something to learn, but also something through which people can feel, connect, and broaden their horizons.

英語レッスンのほか、アート・文化・企業広報などの分野で、翻訳や英文作成を行っています。言葉の背景や空気感を大切に、日本語と英語をつないでいます。
Translation, for me, is a way of listening closely — to words, to context, and to the delicate spaces between languages. Alongside teaching, I work mainly in the fields of art, culture, and communication, helping ideas move gently and clearly between Japanese and English.
